Breakfast was good but you get only 1 slice of toast, and to order another slice of toast will cost you R7.50! Crazy! To think that most other restaurants give you at least 2 slices of toast, butter and jam free.I was shocked. (A loaf of bread costs about R10).

Babotie was great. The trout was great. Service is good. Friendly staff . I recommend this place to eat.

Nice typical South African restaurant. Great menu with lots of specials, huge portions, many game and venison. Very reasonably priced. Only drawback, the kitchen closes by 9 pm, and by 9:30 they (almost) throw you out...

Too many steps

Great views. Great food. Great for kids. Well worth it. Book in advance and settle in taking a few hours there to relax! They have a bee issue so be careful if you have allergies.

An excellent menu with unique dishes. We had the springbok carpaccio, duo of crocodile, fillet with avocado and blue cheese, the springbok potjie and the apple pie. The meats melted in our mouths. Everything was delicious. The service from Vanessa was fantastic. The kitchen is super fast. Relaxing ambience.

My husband and I have gone to the Kruger every August for the past 8 years. One of our major treats is the scenic drive through the mountains to eat at the Wild Fig Tree. The changing menu is a delight as well as our conversations with the owners. I have never appreciated wild game in the States, but here the menu is so good that during our month stay we try to make it there a couple of times. Everything I have eaten at this place has always been superb. Since we are leaving this week for our annual trip, I can hardly wait to return for some delicious South African fare.

We loved The Wild Fig Tree so much that we came 3 nights in a row! Every night we were served by Bongi who was wonderful. The service was fast, friendly and all round excellent! The food, too, was superb. We ordered something different every night and each time it exceeded our expectations. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! Definitely try the macadamia stuffed trout if you like fish, although I also loved the Wildebeest potjie.

We had a wonderfull and superb dinner at the Wild Fig Tree. Delicious food, lovely and helpful staff. We loved it so much that we decided to come back two days later during our last night in Sabie before travelling further. The meals are African cuisine and at the start you'll get an explanation about their suggestions wich are written on a chalkboard. Besides these suggestions you receive a menu with even more delightful options.Besides a restaurant they have a little (fresh) market and souvenirshop with local or nation goods. So if you're in or around Sabie you must take seat in this great restaurant.

We had the Smoked trout lunch, which was both healthy and tasty. Waiting staff was also quick and attentive. It's a place I'd love to eat at again.
